UNESCO Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger

A fantastic website with an interactive map detailing the world’s languages and their state of endangerment. Contains a data set, statistics, and the interactive atlas. There’s a companion book with a full paper map as well.

National Geographic Enduring Voices

Enduring Voices is a project sponsored by National Geographic that provides for expeditions, when invited, to “indigenous communities in their efforts to revitalize and maintain their threatened languages.” There’s an interactive “language hotspot” map as well as a myriad of related feature stories.

Living Tongues Institute

The mission of the Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages is to promote the documentation, maintenance, preservation, and revitalization of endangered languages worldwide through linguist-aided, community-driven multi-media language documentation projects.

The Endangered Language Library is an effort to collect and present all of the existing efforts to document the world's endangered and dying languages. The Library strives to be both a reference for the general public as well as a mouthpiece for academia.
